Summer Reading with the NY Mets - Photos

Queens Library at Long Island City welcomed New York Mets catcher Brian Schneider, relief pitcher Carlos Muniz and mascot Mr. Met, who read books to a room full of excited young fans on July 25. The Mets came to the library to encourage children to read during the summer at their local public library. This is the 14th year that the Mets have lent support to summer reading and the first year of collaboration with Citi. The Mets provide posters, bookmarks, in-stadium promotions, visits by players, and other incentives to keep children reading, and Citi has donated more than 5,000 tickets to Summer Reading Night at Shea on August 20.
